CMS Mistakenly Mailed Notices of Non-Renewal

We have recently been informed that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) mistakenly mailed notices of non-renewal to certain members of Universal American's Medicare Advantage plans. CMS has requested that we advise any member who receives the non-renewal notice that it is in error and the notices should be ignored. Members do not need to take any action in response to the letter and their Medicare Advantage plan will continue.

CMS is currently researching how this error occurred. We are working closely with CMS to determine how many letters were improperly mailed out and what actions will be taken to correct this error. We will notify you immediately with any additional information we receive.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Sales Department at 800-275-6667, ext. 8819 or via email at plicsalesmarketing@UniversalAmerican.com.
